Welcome to Team August
Hi everyone, our 10 yr old son was diagnosed with epilepsy earlier this year and needless to say it’s been quite a ride for my wife and I researching and learning what we can about this frightening and life threatening disorder that there still is no cure for. Watching your child suffer through their first seizure (and of course subsequent seizures) is terrifying and something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. As parents it’s very scary but it's especially scary for August. But he’s actually been really brave about the whole thing and with the help of some anti-seizure medication he has mostly good days and his seizures are kept to a minimum. But they still happen…and not knowing when the next one may come is unsettling to say the least.
This will be our first year doing “The Walk To End Epilepsy” but from friends of ours that have attended it for the past 5 yrs, they tell us it’s grown into quite an event that is a lot of fun for both adults and kids. It’s not just a WALK but there are games to be played and lots of good food to be eaten. And all for a great cause!
So PLEASE come join us on Sunday, November 5, 2017 (between 9am and 12pm) at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena for “The Walk To End Epilepsy.” Your support is needed. If you can’t make the actual event please make a donation to “Team August” to help raise money for the continued research and awareness to stop Epilepsy!
Thank you for helping make a difference.
