Epileptic Opportunity - Paddle for a Cause
Welcome to the Epileptic Opportunity team for the 2017 End Epilepsy walk.
I will be paddling often in the name of my network of friends with epilepsy, everyone from those who I have never met to those who I know well, I will make long paddles, live on social media to gather attention and support for this walk and a cure.
I myself live with epilepsy, but with the support of family and friends have found a way to live the life I always dreamed. I surf daily, even big waves like Maverick's, I paddle long distances to train, I work in social media for Patagonia, I have a beautiful and amazingly loving wife, I have a great set of friends and I drive my own Prius. Life with epilepsy can be challenging, but if you are fortunate, it doesn't have to be overbearing.
I am one of the fortunate epileptics who doesn't seize often, my last seizure was a month ago, but before that close to a year. And thus, my work is to help all with this disease - both as a friend who relates and supports, and as an activist who works to raise the necessary awareness this disease needs in order to find a cure.
Please join me as I paddle, walk and talk about my Epileptic Opportunity. And then, please donate to the cause.
